The Philosophy of Moët & Chandon Champagnes reflects a faith in simplicity and nature based on respect for the grape. The principles of this approach have been handed down from generation to generation for more than 250 years. By owning more Grand and Premier Cru vineyards than any other producer in the Champagne region it can maintain a dynamic and fresh international style, grounded in the very finest of French traditions. The House of Moët was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in the village of Epernay. The company enjoyed success as being the favored Champagne of Europe’s Royal Courts and from shipping to all the major markets in Europe, Russia, and North America. In the 1800’s, the founder’s great grandson Victor partnered with his son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon and formed Moët & Chandon.
