Our Maguey Tobalá Blanco is an un-aged agave spirit that showcases the unique flavors of the Tobalá agave cultivated from a single estate in the mountains near Chilpancingo, MX. The agaves are cooked and juiced using traditional methods that impart subtle smoke and notes of dried fig and wild grass, before being distilled and bottled here in California. Agave spirits are alcoholic spirits made from the agave plant, most famously typified by Tequila and Mezcal in Mexico. Because the final distillation and bottling of our Maguey Tobalá Blanco was done in California, this product is considered an agave spirit rather than a Mezcal, which is what it would be called if it were distilled and bottled in Mexico.

FLAVOR PROFILE

Maguey Tobalá Blanco tastes more like a Mezcal than a Tequila, though it's not nearly as smokey as some Mezcals on the market. The experience starts with a silky mouthfeel and immediately recognizable agave flavor that presents as an enjoyable funkiness that reminds us of wild grass, dried fig, and a unique and very subtle smoke. At 40% A.B.V., this agave spirit is incredibly smooth for something with so much flavor. Enjoy neat or in your favorite Mezcal cocktail.
