Fidencio Tequilana Joven is a unique, limited-release mezcal that stands out because it is made from Agave Tequilana Weber (Blue Weber agave), the same species used for tequila, but grown and produced in Oaxaca. Unlike many mezcals that lean heavily on smoke, this expression is known for its bright, clean, and complex profile.
Profile & Tasting Notes
The flavor profile is defined by the high sugar content of agaves grown in the arid, mineral-rich soil of San Dionisio Ocotepec at 5,500 feet.
  • Aroma: Sweet and inviting with notes of marshmallow, bright citrus, and fresh pine.
  • Palate: A layered experience featuring minerals, sweet mint, citrus, and a touch of green chili spice.
  • Finish: Crisp and clean with a lingering spicy kick and sweet citrus notes.
  • ABV: 48.2% (Batch Proof).
Artisanal Production
Crafted by Maestro Enrique Jiménez, a fourth-generation producer, this mezcal follows traditional Oaxacan methods:
  • Agave: 100% Agave Tequilana (Maguey Azul).
  • Cooking: Roasted in a traditional earthen pit with volcanic rock and black oak.
  • Crushing: Traditional Tahona mill.
  • Fermentation: Wild fermentation in pine vats.
  • Distillation: Double-distilled in 500-liter copper alembic stills.
How it Differs from Fidencio Clásico
While the Tequilana version is a special release focused on the Blue Weber agave, Fidencio also offers the more common Fidencio Clásico Joven. The Clásico is made from Espadín agave and typically features more traditional wood smoke, tobacco, and earthy undertones
