Dos Boots’ agaves are grown deep in the Oaxacan Sierra, only a short drive from Villa Las Margaritas. The rich terroir of the mountain landscape and soil there nurture our agave, giving it its unique and differentiating proper- ties. The piñas, or hearts, of the agaves are hand selected and cooked in a conical underground pit oven, overseen by the expertise of our 4th generation Maestro Mezcalero, Petronilo Altamirano. Our agave is milled with a tahona stone wheel, fermented in wooden vats, and double distilled in copper alembic stills. Our Mezcal’s flavor is bold, and best described as smooth with herbal, earthy notes and a slight sweet aftertaste. We think it’s delicious, and is best enjoyed as a sipping experience or in a craft cocktail.
