Dewar's Double Double 38 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a strictly limited-edition whisky created with our unique 4-stage aging process, and is the second of our rare blended malts in a special Collector's Series celebrating Scotland's most famous whisky regions. As a tribute to the Upper Highlands region, Double Double 38 Year Old is finished in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks that previously held Royal Brackla Single Malt Whisky.
To create Dewar's Double Double 38 Year Old Blended Malt, we deliberately held back an allotment of our 37 year old from the previous year as a foundation. This same method will be repeated for every subsequent year, allowing every marque of a specific age to carry forward to the next year's edition.
The experience of tasting this one-of-a-kind whisky is a true feast for the senses, offering aromatic notes of white flowers with a touch of citrus. Tasting reveals sumptuous notes of creamy vanilla and toasted cereals, along with a sweet almond essence and a subtle whiff of smoke. The Pedro Ximénez sherry casks used in the aging process offer delicate notes of dried figs and plums, with a flavor reminiscent of dark chocolate shavings on indulgent hot cocoa.
