WHAT IS GRAPPA?

Grappa is a traditional Italian alcoholic beverage with a rich history dating back centuries. This distinctive spirit is crafted from the remnants of the winemaking process, specifically the grape pomace—skins, seeds, and stems left after pressing grapes for wine. The pomace is fermented and distilled to produce grappa, a potent and aromatic grape-based brandy.

Grappa's flavor profile varies depending on the grape varieties used and the distillation process employed by different producers. Commonly enjoyed as a digestif, grappa is known for its intense and complex taste, featuring fruity, floral, and sometimes spicy notes. Whether sipped neat or used as a key ingredient in cocktails, grappa stands as a testament to Italy's commitment to preserving its cultural and culinary heritage.
