Caballito Cerrero Chato Reposado Tequila

Caballito Cerrero Chato Reposado is an artisanal agave spirit crafted from Agave angustifolia "Chato", offering a distinctive alternative to traditional Blue Weber agave expressions. Produced by the historic Jiménez family using traditional methods, the agaves are slowly cooked in brick ovens, naturally fermented, double-distilled in copper and stainless steel pot stills, and rested in used American oak barrels. Although it cannot legally be labeled as tequila due to the producer's decision to forgo CRT certification, it remains one of the most respected agave spirits among enthusiasts.

Rather than allowing oak to dominate, the brief barrel aging enhances the spirit's vibrant agave character with subtle notes of vanilla, spice, and earthy minerality. Its layered complexity, silky texture, and unconventional flavor profile make it an exceptional sipping spirit for experienced agave drinkers looking to explore beyond traditional tequila.
