First passed in 1897, the Bottled-in-Bond Act is a crucial piece of quality control that defines the whiskey industry. For a bourbon to be labeled ‘bonded’ or ‘bottled in bond,’ it must adhere to the specifications set forth in this legislation. It states that a whiskey must be aged in a United States’ federally bonded barrelhouse for a minimum of four years, bottled at 100 proof, and be the product of one distillery and one distilling season.

Introducing the first batch of Bulleit Bottled-in-Bond Whiskey a testament to mastery and quality. Created from the bounty of the 2017 distillation season, its deep flavor of the liquid is the result of perseverance and patience.  Utilizing our classic bourbon mashbill, this liquid has been aged for 7 years.

This liquid’s spicy, fruity aroma precedes flavors of toasted oak, maple, and nutmeg on the palate, ending with a sweet butterscotch finish. Try in your next old fashioned or Manhattan.
